Frequently Asked Questions
What is Anonymous Peasant?
This is the digital home of the Des Donnelly Archive. It is a minimalist web platform that presents 30 years of creative fragments through intelligent randomization. It showcases poetry, philosophical reflections, and 'Famous Last Words' in multiple languages, creating unexpected connections across time and thought.
How does the randomization work?
The platform is powered by Google BigQuery. It uses algorithms to create meaningful connections between fragments based on themes, mood, temporal flow, and linguistic diversity. It is not purely random; it is stochastic—weighted by theme importance and decade relevance.
What languages are supported?
The platform currently supports English, Spanish, and French. Each language brings different cultural perspectives to universal themes like loneliness, creativity, aging, and transformation.
What do the different sections mean?
- Home:Discovery and Randomness.
- Today:Presence, Awareness, and the Now.
- Tomorrow:Hope, Possibility, and Transformation.
- Never:Mortality, Futility, and Acceptance.
How often is new content added?
The archive draws from a dataset of thousands of fragments spanning three decades (1995–2025). New content is migrated to the database periodically as the project evolves.
Can I save or bookmark fragments?
Currently, the platform focuses on the ephemeral nature of digital discovery. There are no user accounts or bookmarks. If you see a fragment you like, capture it in the moment, or it may be gone.
Is there a mobile app?
The website is fully responsive and optimized for mobile devices (PWA compatible). There are no plans for a separate app store download at this time.
Is the platform free to use?
Yes. The archive is a personal artistic project and is free to access.
